The game
history and strategy
The game involves each player of the team tossing the bag towards the board
placed opposite them. With the bag landing on the board, the player who pitches
scores one point, while for the bag landing in the hole, the player gets three
points.
There are various strategies in the cornhole game, with the players
achieving the enviable swish, where the bag goes straight into the hole without
touching the board; and ringers, where one 3-pointer cancels out the other
team’s 3-pointer. These strategies refer to consecutive bags thrown into the
hole. It is quite easy to learn the cornhole game and the cornhole
rules. And the exciting thing is the game is simple to play yet competitive
with various leagues and tournaments coming up all around the world.
The game may have its origins in some ancient civilizations where
individuals hurled rocks into holes in the ground. It was a German,
Kuppermann, who thought of replacing the rock with burlap bag filled with corn
kernels to ensure the safety of the players. However, due to the increased
price of corn in Europe, the popularity of the game faltered until Germans
migrants started playing it in America.
Another legend goes that McGillicuddy, a Kentucky farmer, invented the game as a pastime in the field with friends and family.

for Cornhole Game
Other names of the game are baggo, backyard toss, beanbag toss, corn
toss, hillbilly horses, soft horseshoes, and the beanbag game, to name a few.
The popular game of cornhole has become a great tradition and is deeply
associated with tailgate America.
To play the game, you need two sets of bean bags. Distinct colors
differentiate the sets. There are four bags of the same color in each of the
sets. For example, team 1 may have red-colored bags, while team 2 may have
white-colored cornhole bags. Every bag should have dimensions of 6
inches by 6 inches and these generally have the same weight. The bags are
stuffed with corn or beans. Make sure you avoid very small, very big, very
light, or very heavy bags.
Apart from this, one also needs two cornhole boards. The official
boards are 2 feet by 4 feet and have a 6-inch diameter hole drilled into them.
The hole is placed 9 inches from the top center of each board. This standard
size of the boards is the most suitable for the cornhole game. Other
sizes do not work as well.
Area of
the game
The arrangement to play the game includes a level area of nearly 40 feet
with the fronts of the boards positioned 27 feet apart and opposite to each
other. Take care that you do not position the boards opposite to the sun’s
glare as it will affect the play.
Playing
the game
Two teams play the cornhole game. On each team, there may be one or two
players. Thus, overall, there are 2 or 4 players in the game. Each of the
teammates will stand facing each other at each board. The players will throw
from the same position they have chosen throughout the game whether on the side
of the board or standing on the board.
Scoring
rules
To decide which team will play first, you need to flip a coin, or the
previous winner starts the game. One player of each team stands at each board,
and both players have four cornhole bags of different colors. For
example, if one player has white bags, the other team’s player will have red
bags.
One player will throw at a time. Both players throw alternately at the
opposite board till all the bags get used. Players must keep in mind that all
the throws are made from behind from the front of the cornhole boards (the foul
line). The bags remain on the boards
until the score gets calculated.
Calculate the difference between the higher and the lower score. The
